Statement by Norwood Hospital

Norwood Hospital continues to recover from last weekend’s devastating storm. We are assessing the full extent of damage to our facilities and determining next steps. This hospital has been a pillar in the Norwood community for more than 100 years, and we are absolutely committed to reopening as a full-service, state-of-the-art facility to meet the health care needs of our community.

Our top priority is reopening the Emergency Department, an important health resource for the greater Norwood community. In the days ahead, we will begin to outline a timeframe to bring additional services back online. We will continue to provide official updates as our plans develop.

Norwood Hospital thanks its physicians, employees and union partners for their steadfast dedication to the patients we serve. We are working collaboratively across our network of hospitals for opportunities that will allow them to continue to serve the health care needs of our communities. We also thank the Town of Norwood for their continued partnership, swift and thorough response to this crisis, and promise of ongoing support. And a special thanks to hospital leaders from across the region who have offered their guidance and support in helping our team to rebuild Norwood Hospital for this community.

Perhaps like no other, this year has tested the strength and resolve of the Norwood community, including Norwood Hospital.  As an institution committed to serving others in times of great need, our mission of care and healing is more important than ever. We look forward to once again standing tall for the Norwood community for the next 100 years.
