Need a Doctor? New Steward Medical Group Practice Opening in Norwood

Primary Care Specialists Louis Silvagnoli, MD, and Juliet Nimako, MD, Accepting New Patients

NORWOOD – It’s cold and flu season and a trip to the doctor’s office just got more convenient for the Norwood community. Steward Medical Group has opened a new primary care practice with two internal medicine specialists as of February 11 on Washington Street, near the heart of downtown. The new office expands access to care for area residents and regional workforce.

Steward Medical Group Norwood Primary Care offers the full spectrum of internal medicine care for patients ages 16 and older. Dr. Louis Silvagnoli and Dr. Juliet Nimako, will provide treatment at the office at 900 Washington St., Suite C. The practice opening signifies a return to the area for Dr. Silvagnoli. Both physicians are affiliated with Norwood Hospital, a Steward Health Care family hospital. The practice also plans to welcome a third doctor at the office in the summer.

A community open house and ribbon cutting will be held at the practice on Tuesday, February 26, from 3-5 p.m. All are invited to attend.

“We are excited to open this new practice in Norwood to further improve primary care access,” said Dr. Sanjay Shetty, president of Steward Medical Group. “Dr. Silvagnoli and Dr. Nimako are both experienced providers who will offer patients the highest quality of care in a convenient location.”

Dr. Silvagnoli has a special clinical interest in diabetes, in addition to primary care. Dr. Nimako’s special clinical interest includes women’s health and preventative medicine. Appointments with Dr. Nimako may also be made online at www.stewardmedicalgroup.org, click on “Find a Doctor” and input her name to bring up her schedule for convenient appointment booking.

Appointments for both physicians may be made by calling the practice at 781-349-8375.

The addition of the primary care office complements the care Steward provides in the community at Norwood Hospital, said Salvatore Perla, DrPh, hospital president. The hospital has more than 500 physicians and includes care ranging from its Small Miracles Maternity Unit to its robotic-assisted orthopedic surgery program.

“Norwood Hospital has been providing great care in the community for 100 years and the opening of this new practice gives residents of the town and surrounding area more choices for their health care, and greater access to our services,” Perla said. “Should patients need hospital diagnostic services, emergency care, or care for more serious illnesses, Drs. Silvagnoli and Nimako will work collaboratively with our team of specialists at the hospital to provide patients with the best care possible, close to home.”

Steward Medical Group’s footprint in the Norwood area includes practices that provide care including obstetrics and gynecology, urology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics.

Steward Medical Group Norwood Primary Care will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is ample free parking at the office. Patients may also access it on the public transit line. The office is also within walking distance from the Norwood Commuter Rail stop.
