Meet the Hernia Center Team
Peter J. Lydon, MD, FACS, Medical Director
Dr. Peter Lydon is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been practicing surgery in Norwood since 1987. He was a pioneer in the development of minimally invasive surgical procedures and among just a handful of surgeons in the state to first perform laparoscopic cholecystectomies in 1990. Dr. Lydon was the first surgeon in the area to perform minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair beginning in 1993. As a charter member of the American Hernia Society, he has presented cases at national meetings. He is also a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Boston Surgical Society, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lydon has performed more than 2,000 minimally invasive hernia procedures and trained many physicians in the technique. He is also an investigator in Ethicon’s International Hernia Mesh Registry since 2008. Dr. Lydon offers the most current and up-to-date treatment of all hernias, including minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair, umbilical hernia repair, open and laparoscopic incisional hernia repair, hiatal hernia repair, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction for the most complicated ventral and incisional hernias. Dr. Lydon was recognized by Boston Magazine in December of 2015 as one of the “Top Docs” in the area.

Brandon Tari, MD
Dr. Brandon Tari is a graduate of New York Medical College and completed his surgical residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Hernia Society. Dr. Tari performs inguinal, ventral, umbilical, and incisional hernia repairs using a variety of techniques, including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
