Norwood Hospital Hosts 3rd Annual Health and Wellness Event
for ESOL and ASE Students

Norwood, MA – November 8, 2017 – Norwood Hospital welcomed adult ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and ASE (Adult Secondary Education) students to the hospital campus for an informational Health Fair in October. The goal of the session was to review the health care process and provide health information for individuals who don’t speak English as a first language. Canton Fire Chief Charles Doody joined Norwood Hospital’s clinical staff in the panel discussions on calling 911, what to expect when you come to the hospital, and Interpreter Services’ systems available. Norwood Hospital’s Dr. Alan Kurland, Neurologist, also spoke to the audience on Stroke. Adult students taking ESOL and ASE classes at Blue Hills Adult Education in Canton, their teachers and Director Ellen Borgenicht were invited to the event. Thirty students from over 9 countries attended the event.
