Norwood Hospital recently honored Ann Sanville, RN, BSN of Mansfield, as its 2013 Nurse of Distinction. Sanville has been a nurse at the hospital for nearly 40 years and currently works in the Small Miracles maternity unit.

In nominating her for the award, Sanville’s colleagues echo this nurse’s comment, “Ann is an exceptional nurse who succeeds in creating a positive and compassionate environment for both first-time mothers, as well as for mom’s who have been through the experience before. She goes above and beyond for her patients.”

The Nurse of Distinction honor is an annual award that recognizes an extraordinary nurse who exhibits clinical and service excellence, collegiality, and professional development, while serving as a resource to patients, families and peers. The award presentation caps off Nurses’ Week, held in early May, which honors all of the nursing staff at the hospital.

Norwood Hospital nurses consistently demonstrate their professionalism and clinical skills each and everyday as they care for our patients, said Mary Kinneman, RN, MSN, chief nursing officer and vice president of Patient Care Services. “Ann is one of our shining stars whose dedication and years of service to patient care makes her an invaluable caregiver to our patients and staff.”
