The Division of Gastroenterology (GI) at Norwood Hospital concentrates on the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of GI disorders through the use of state-of-the-art technologies. The division addresses many disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
We offer many procedures including colonoscopy, which is a critical screening tool for cancer and other diseases of the colon. Endoscopic procedures are also used to diagnose gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and diverticulitis.
Other procedures commonly conducted include flexible sigmoidoscopy, upper endoscopic balloon dilation, placement of stents, control of GI bleeding, liver biopsy, placement of feeding tubes, endoscopy of the small bowel and evaluation of the motility of the esophagus.
