Volunteer your time as a spiritual care minister. Spiritual care ministers are lay men and woman who share the gifts of God’s love, compassion and peace with the sick and suffering and their families.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic ministers nourish our patients by bringing them the presence of Christ in sacramental form through Holy Communion. To be a Eucharistic minister you are required to be affiliated with a Catholic parish. The parish will provide the basic training to become a Eucharistic minister. Our spiritual care office will continue that training to make it applicable to the health care setting.

Pastoral Visitors

Pastoral visiting is a lay ministry, whereby individuals volunteer their time in the emergency department, offering comfort and compassion to patients and families, a good listening ear, a warm blanket, and acting as a liaison between nursing and families.
